What was the task?
To create a working network based on Ethereum smart contracts that allows one to perform distributed AI computing in a trustless environment. Implement economic incentives for the consensus participants.
Challenges/difficulties we confronted doing this:
- Developers of neural networks, owners of datasets and computing capacities should be able to sell their services in a trustless environment, without intermediaries and censorship.
- Complicated platform logic and workflows should be based on a public blockchain.
- Such a large network with a huge amount of off-chain computations requires excellent optimization for a fee reduction.
What we have done / Our contribution:
At the beginning of the project, we conducted testing and evaluation of the most well known public blockchains, and we chose Ethereum as the most suitable for launching the network.
It was difficult to implement all the consensus logic with Solidity since the Ethereum has a block limit on calculations. We have developed over 35 interconnected smart contracts. Then we optimized their structure and interaction in order to reduce fees for users. The result is a working network implementing the Pyrrha consensus.
