How we started
The idea of such a project appeared even before this whole buzz around Bitcoin had begun. There were three enthusiasts, who really liked the idea of Bitcoin’s limited emission and decentralized digital currency in general. At this time, we have already had another business to run, yet we have had the feeling this might be worth a lot of money lately. The emergence of Ethereum, the second wave of blockchain technology development, became the starting point for Blaize project. From that moment, we put our main focus on it and started to delve into this topic. It was difficult to learn, as there was no such book as “How to become a blockchain developer in 100 days”. Therefore, for about a year, we have traveled to numerous international conferences gaining knowledge and increasing our expertise in the blockchain development field. As a result, in 2016 Blaize was founded.
Where does the name come from?
Generally speaking, the name Blaize has even two meanings, the first is the connotation with the word blaze – flash. Our aim was to grow up quickly, so this company became some kind of a flash, a very fast-growing startup. The second meaning is more metaphorical – Merlin’s teacher, from the self-titled series, was called Blaize and while Merlin is a fairly well-known figure, few people know that Blaize had his back for the whole time, whilst helping and guiding him. Well, Merlin represents most of our clients – young and prospective startups, which we help to grow and achieve successful results, as Blaize did. In other words, we see ourselves as a kind of mentor for the new startups.
Blaize mission
Together with the Blaize team, we support the idea of a third generation web, where the data access is decentralized and society is free of censorship. Building decentralized software solutions is our small contribution to such a broad vision.
What was next?
In the beginning, our clients were mostly small startups who have heard about us from friends and acquaintances. Of course we ran up against some troubles at the first phase, yet we sorted it out and moved a big step forward. The number of clients continued to grow, and if firstly only one or two employees were involved, a couple months later it was necessary to hire a whole team of specialists. Now, we are a firmly rooted company with 25+ developers in our team.
The biggest challenge
One of the most difficult cases was fulfilled for our partner Remme. The challenge was to modify the whole mechanics of an DPOS (Delegated Proof of Stake) network, so in fact, to rebuild the DPOS network. We had been doing it for 4 months along with the team of 5 people. It was a difficult, but at the same time extremely interesting task.
Who are Blaize clients?
The majority of our clients are startups, mainly from the USA, Israel, Germany, Turkey and Ukraine. There are also companies, which have their own products, but want to enhance it with the implementation of blockchain technology.
What kind of strategy do we you use?
The very first client came to us by word of mouth and we still experience the same. We do our job with great commitment and deliver a high quality product, clients appreciate it and continue to recommend. The blockchain market is quite small, everyone knows each other, so “word of mouth” type of advertisement works the best.
Blaize core values
Those are very simple: first of all, honesty. We strive to deliver the best products with no hidden fees and further refinements. The next one is professionalism embodied in the team of experienced and certified specialists. Well, the third is an individual approach. In Blaize we do not just fulfill the requirements of the TOR, we seek to grasp the real needs of a client and try to pick the greatest solution for every particular case, in order to meet the final goal.
